THAT’S ENOUGH FOR ME!

When I was growing up, I thought of my grandparents as old people. That’s just what grandparents are.

But as I got older, something began to dawn on me: my parents had once been kids. And those old people I knew as Grandpa and Grandma had once been young parents themselves. I learned a great many stories about their earlier years.

One story has especially stuck with me.

My dad told me that when he was a little boy, he was awakened one night by loud, boisterous laughter coming from outside the house.

He got out of bed, went to the window, and discovered that his mom and dad—my grandparents—running around outside naked as jaybirds in the middle of the night, laughing and spraying each other with a garden hose!

It took some imagination to picture my grandparents doing something like this—so different from the way I had always known them. Apparently, they kept it up for quite a while—until Grandpa slipped on the wet sidewalk and went down hard.

For a moment he just lay there, a little dazed.

Eventually he got himself up, and announced:

“Well… that’s enough for me!”

And the fun was over.

I've thought about that little statement many times over the years. My grandpa had built the home where my dad grew up, and the concrete sidewalks around that house had an unusually smooth finish. Whenever we visited Grandpa and Grandma, I would walk those same sidewalks and think about how incredibly slippery they could be if they got wet. And I would picture that scene from so many years before—my grandparents, young and laughing and chasing each other with a garden hose—until Grandpa took that memorable fall and declared, “Well, that’s enough for me!”

WHEN LIFE KNOCKS YOU DOWN

And there comes a point in almost everyone's life when we get knocked down hard enough that we might say that very same thing.

I have fallen down pretty hard more than once.

I've spent 50 years in network marketing, and I've seen companies rise, flourish—and sometimes fall apart. More than once, I've had to pick myself up and start all over again.

And almost every time a company failed, most all of the people who had been running alongside me came to the same conclusion:

“I've had enough.”

“I'm done.”

“I'm never doing this again.”

In other words:

“That’s enough for me!”

I’ve had one remarkable exception to that predictable response: “That’s enough for me.”

I was with five different companies over my first 40+ years- and each time one came to an end, I essentially had to start over. New company. New people, new beginning.

THIS TIME, SOMETHING WAS DIFFERENT

But something different happened in May of 2020.

I had experienced something personally and profoundly meaningful with the product we now call Cell Defender. I believed in it so strongly that I felt almost a calling to help get it into the hands of other people. So I joined a new company that was promoting it, and before long, we attracted a wonderful group of people who also became excited about the products Rik Deitsch was creating.

Then the company began to collapse because of problems with its ownership.

Normally, that's when people say, “Well, that's enough for me!”

But this time, most people weren't ready to walk away from the products or from each other.

OUR SHIP WAS SINKING

Another company came along and contracted with Rik to carry his products. I explained it to our people this way:

Our ship may be sinking, but another ship has just pulled alongside us. We're here because of the cargo—and we don't even have to change our seating assignments. We can simply step aboard the new ship together and keep going.

And to my surprise, that's exactly what most everyone did.

Instead of saying, “That's enough for me,” the majority came with us.

Unfortunately, less than a year later, our new ship started taking on water too. Once again, we found ourselves frustrated by a corporate leadership that simply wasn't capable of taking us where we believed we could go.

But this time, something very different happened.

There was enough frustration to say, “Enough!”—but not enough to say, “I quit.”

Instead, that dissatisfaction became an inspirational catalyst for Rik and Neil and Doug to build a ship of their own.

And once again, many of us kept our same “seating assignments,” stayed together, and climbed aboard.

That ship became Avini Health in May of 2022.

And maybe that's one of the great lessons I've learned from the journey:

Sometimes “enough is enough” doesn't mean it's time to quit. Sometimes it means it's time to build something better.

The difference between people who ultimately succeed and those who don't may not be how many times they fail. It may simply be how many times they're willing to get back up before they finally say, “That's enough for me.”

FAILING FORWARD

John Maxwell calls it “Failing Forward.” Failure doesn't have to push you backward. If you learn from it, it can actually move you forward.

The question isn't whether life will knock you down. It will. The question is what you say when you're lying there:

“That's enough for me”…

or

“I'm getting back up.”

The difference between average people and achieving people is their perception of and response to failure.— Maxwell

A FEW PRINCIPLES I’VE CARRIED WITH ME

one of my favorite Maxwell quotes is:

**How do you know that you are on the road to Success?

It’s uphill...all the way!**

All growth depends upon activity. There is no development physically or intellectually without effort, and effort means work.

Calvin Coolidge

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education alone will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

The slogan “Press On!” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

Winners never Quit – Quitters never Win.

However another powerful thought is The Definition of Insanity... repeat the same thing and expect a different result.

Important to repeat things that can positively compound and grow benefit.

Check it out.

Is anybody making this work?

Are there just a chosen few who have super abilities, or have lots of people made it?

Currently?

Does this work?

Is there proof?

Can I do this?

WHY THIS TIME MATTERS

“The opportunity of a lifetime is only as good as the lifetime of the opportunity.”

And that’s what makes what we have today so compelling.

We have experience.

We’re debt-free.

We have a proven track record of real sales volume driven by people who genuinely love the products and buy them to use them—not simply to qualify for a commission check.

Most importantly, we have a company intentionally designed and built for long-term growth, stability, and staying power.

That’s the vision:

Avini Health is the last company you’ll ever have to build!
